Safety is always a top priority for drivers and passengers alike. This article will cover some of the safety features that Chevrolet Equinox offers to make sure you know what to expect before going out on the road.

1. Seatbelts

First on the list is seatbelts. Equinox has 3-point safety belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters for all seating positions, including center rear and outboard rear side-impact airbags (for torso protection) to be used only in the event of a frontal collision. Pretensioners tighten up on seatbelts to keep occupants better restrained and load limiters further distribute crash forces across the seatbelt.

2. Airbags

There are 2 front airbags and 1 side-impact airbag (for torso protection), and at high speeds, some models may even come with a driver's knee airbag for additional body support. A frontal airbag deploys in moderate to severe impacts and a thorax airbag deploys in severe frontal impacts to keep the torso protected while limiting head flailing.
